Defective Brake

The panic situation was over people in town. A great and terrible fire had burned down the entire shopping complex.

Suddenly, a truck contained the farmers moved so fast down the slope and towards the flames. The crowd ran to the back when the truck was moved into the flames. The farmer jumped out and put out the fire with a wet cloth. Miraculously, the fire had gone out That city officer felt amazed by the heroic act of that person and they gave him a appreciation and cash of $ 1,000. During the press conference, a reporter asked him what he would do with the money he earned. Without waiting any longer, he replied, "Obviously, the first thing I would do is fix my truck’s defective brake."

If some people feel that "the defective break" has destroyed the dreams and their future, they will never see an opportunity in their lives. The opportunity appears often, when we do not give up with all the challenges and obstacles in life. Having a truck with defective brake is still better than not having a truck. Value each asset that you have. Today, your challenge could be changed into your stepping stones

Your Worship for Him

Then Mary took three quarters of a pound of expensive aromatic oil from pure nard and anointed the feet of Jesus. She then wiped his feet dry with her hair. (Now the house was filled with the fragrance of the perfumed oil.) But Judas Iscariot, one of his disciples (the one who was going to betray him) said, “Why wasn’t this oil sold for three hundred silver coins and the money given to the poor?” (Now Judas said this not because he was concerned about the poor, but because he was a thief. As keeper of the money box, he used to steal what was put into it.) John 12:3-6

One month salary is not very small amount. You can use to buy rice, paying electricity, your children school fees, or other purposes. When you give your one month's salary to someone else is a heavy thing, moreover when you give your one year’s salary!

However Mary gave all that she had for Jesus. It was one year salary, a perfume that was very expensive, was used to anoint Jesus' feet. Usually, expensive oil was stored and used when a person died, to anoint the body but she poured it on Jesus feet. Maria gave it generously, willingly, and abundantly. She did not give because Jesus was poor and needed the money, but she gave because she wanted to worship Jesus.

Your giving is your worship to Him. So, it is not wrong when people say that your generosity is comparable to the way your perspective of God. How big is your perspective of God, for it also you dare to worship Him with your gifts.

Generosity is comparable to your perspective of God

Road to Blessings

Matthew 5:7 “Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.” Deuteronomy 24:19 ”Whenever you reap your harvest in your field and leave some unranked grain there, you must not return to get it; it should go to the resident foreigner, orphan, and widow so that the Lord your God may bless all the work you do.”

Isaiah 58:7-11 ”I want you to share your food with the hungry and to provide shelter for homeless, oppressed people. When you see someone naked, clothe him! Don’t turn your back on your own flesh and blood!. Then your light will shine like the sunrise; your restoration will quickly arrive; your godly behavior will go before you, and the Lord’s splendor will be your rear guard. Then you will call out, and the Lord will respond; you will cry out, and he will reply, ‘Here I am. You must remove the burdensome yoke from among you and stop pointing fingers and speaking sinfully. You must actively help the hungry and feed the oppressed. Then your light will dispel the darkness, and your darkness will be transformed into noonday. The Lord will continually lead you; he will feed you even in parched regions. He will give you renewed strength, and you will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring that continually produces water.”

Believe it or not, research shows that the generous people seldom have problems mentally and emotionally. Because those kinds of people have lives focused on others, so they do not think too much about themselves, their shortcomings, failures, and weaknesses. So, generosity is not only useful for others, but also for you! In addition, those generous people are eligible for the promise of God:

• You are restored, healed (Isaiah 58:8)
• God answers your prayer (Isaiah 58:9)
• You are guided by the Lord (Isaiah 58:11)
• Your heart be satisfied (Isaiah 58:11)
• Your Strength is renewed (Isaiah 58:11)
• Obtain mercy (Matthew 5:7)
• Blessed in all our work (Deuteronomy 24:19)
